I made the switch from Quark to InDesign but my prints look terrible. What's the
deal? There must be a reason. I've been trying just about everything. I'm gonna
run out of paper before I get this solved. What do I need to do (besides switch back
to Quark)?

On screen, the layout looks awesome. The color is perfect. When I print, greens
look closer to yellow. The colors are washed out. It's not even close.

not to be an ass, but have you checked your profiles and settings are in order under id's color settings?

I've been experimenting with ID's color settings. I'm getting improvement but
still don't have it anywhere near where I want it. I found that if I export to PDF
and then print with Acrobat, it looks much better. What's with that?

I tried a program called iProof-X which is supposed to provide color matching
specifically for the printer I use. In demo mode, it wouldn't even print.

I've been printing pictures all night. One looks good. If I could only remember
which settings I used for that picture. There's got to be a better way.

You may need to recalibrate everything for ID, and apply the new color settings afterwards. but I dont know.
