I'd like to see a utility that obtains the EXIF information out of a JPEG file and
uses it to set the date and time stamps of that file (without changing the name).

I have many JPEG images which, through archival or retrieval or manipulation,
have lost their original date/time stamps. This makes it difficult to arrange them
chronologically.

Let me know if there is any such utility. It sounds pretty simple. Someone should
create it if it doesn't already exist.

I want more than simply to view the EXIF information. I want a utility which will batch process my JPEG images and set their date/time stamps based on the EXIF information.

There is a utility called ExifRenamer which will rename the file based on the EXIF date. That is close but I want to maintain my filenames and simply change the time stamp.

I still cannot find a utility that fits
the original description.
