convert Freehand 3 to Adobe Illustrator?

I'm putting together a new G4 Tower system and X compatible software for a user in a department that has lost their graphic artist due to budget cuts. He was using Freehand version 3 and never moved from that as he was comfortable with it. He did order Freehand Version 9 which was never installed on the computer so it is available if neccessary.

The new users would like to move to all Adobe products and we are ordering Illustrator.

I'm not very familiar with either program. Is it possible to import Freehand 3 documents into the current version of Adobe Illustrator and if so what steps need to be taken to accomplish this. Will I need to order any additional software?

In Freehand, can he save or export as EPS? That should do the trick.

and if you're not going to use that copy of Freehand, don't let it go to waste. Send it to me!
