I like it. Very clean. No complaints here, really, just a compliment.

Agreed, it's very nice and clean, I like it
I think that the street signs are pretty much self explanatory, you might not need that "choose your destination," and it'd help make that part a little cleaner than it already is. Also, i hope you're going to put an email link on the "@" sign, becuase that' what I thought it was, btu it did't go anywhere.

My only critique is, even though it's in its infancy, your website always should have everything correctly spelled (besides phonetic things... specifically, "road" was misspelled "raod"). Periods at the ends of sentences are nice, too... looks okay to me.

Some of the colors have very sharp boundaries, some have kind of a fuzzy halo. This confuses my brain.
Generally a good start-- I like the signpost navbar idea.

I used Adobe Imageready to create the animation for both mouse-over and mouse-out state. I then used Dreamweaver to automatically created javascript code for both state.
I could have used Flash for this but I was never a fan of Flash and does not plan to use it anytime soon in the future.

Hey Concept-
I like the site so far but I do have a few suggestions-
As others have said the navigation could use some sort of feedback. You could have a very subtle rollover and the street signs should be capitalized. Not necessarily all caps but the Ave. and Rd. definitley. I would also suggest using the shape of the metal street signs since they are green (the Services road sign is a bit extreme with the perspective). You can lose the choose your destination and make the post and signs slightly bigger.
I like the illustration style but the mountains could use some shading to give the illusion of depth. That and the @ sign should be linked (it's in progress, I know). Other than that I like the idea. I think you may want to consider a slightly different layout for each page instead of conforming to a small box that's always in the same place. Especially for the portfolio area. Your work should be the focus, not the site. Obviously there are changes to come but I thought I would drop my thoughts since you asked for them.
One last thing, the font combo you used for your site name is great, but...the kerning between the f and the u in unfukwitable drives me nuts. Pull it in-

Yeah, sorry, I was in a 'Mr Horse' kind of mood. It's just that ... well ... I like the navigation to be a minimal design element. It's like good typography, you don't even notice it is there.
The signpost device, while creative, doesn't really work as a metaphor. To be a true metaphor, the view would have to change at each 'location', the sign would have to change too to reflect the new relative 'positions' of your pages. A navigation system that changes everytime you 'move' is not a good idea, imho.
Not a bad effort, but consider this: it's better that the content comes to the viewer, than the viewer goes to the content. Keep at it, I don't mean to discourage you.
