I think it looks pretty damn good. I like the muted colors, and the header. One thing that distracs me is the body copy font. I would either change it to title case (other than all caps) and/or change it to a sans-serif font. Serif fonts for web page copy tend to get hard to read when there's a lot of text.

Other than that, I think it's pretty slick. Are those circular things on the right side used for anything? Are they buttons for anything?

(almost) never use caps for body copy. impossible to read. semantically, you also reduce your ability to then emphasize a point, or points, without resorting to more textual gyrations.

those circles are awful big compared to the elements you are using for site nav--i hope they do something, cause thats where i would mouse over to try to go somewhere else.

thanks for the replys. the body text is going to be html text after i get to where i want with the interface. i want the site to be as search engine friendly as possible.

the side circles may stay or may not. guy really likes them like that, but they were originally filler at the time. i was thinking about maybe having them become active for work samples, but we will see what pans out.

Text is awfully close together, and the all capitals approach is a pain to read. Other than that, cool beans.

It's the menu on the right that bothers me, feels like trying to write with your left hand...akward.

Hey! I'm left handed, so writing that way isn't so hard for me. But I agree with everyone else. Red, and all cap's is difficult to read. Other than that it looks good to me. (but i AM left handed once again)

lose the hyphens and get rid of the all-caps text.

I missed why the suggested site should be viewed.

When I looked at that site ("dcita") I liked the main page, be all the linked pages were a bit disorienting. I kep thinking "where did that left-navigation menu go?" The breadcrumbs are nice for a User to go to a previous page, but your design forces a user to go back to the "home" page whenever they want to go anywhere else. ...unless I missed some major menu items in the site.

but again...I like the main page you've got. It has a nice composition, good tones, and easy to read.

I'm not too familiar with web page design, but I have to agree with what almost everyone else is saying about the text in the middle. Lose the "all caps", maybe go with a simple sans serif font like Helvetica/Geneva/Arial. I do actually like the font color because it adds a little variation, but you could try experimenting with a few other colors also.

I'd make the font size a tad smaller so there's a little more space between lines. I dunno, can you horizontally scale a font in HTML? If so, keep the same horizontal width to fit your frames, but scale it down a tad vertically.

Or, you could make 3 columns for the text with ample space between each line and just scale it all down properly.

Just tossing out idea's here really. Like I said I'm not Web Page design expert, but I've done plenty of page layout for print in my time.

hey thanks for the feedback. i know everyone keeps saying about the all caps red body text but i stated a few times above that all that text is going to be properly spaced html text, not an image, once i get the overall design worked out. i am working out the html for it now so that stuff will be corrected

thanks again though
