What do I need to convert EPS files to JPEG?

I have Print Explosion and many of the files are EPS. I need to open them in Painter and Photoshop Elements.

Thank you for your help

Go to Photoshop, select FILE->OPEN and find your file.

Then choose the resolution you want.

That's it! Unless you have Photoshop 3 or so. I know you could do it since version 5 or greater and perhaps even in 4.0.

I'm of the assumption that elements will be able to do the same as its big brother. Try it and let us know (unless you've already tried and its failed).

Photoshop Elements will not open the EPS files.

I need some kind of converter. Graphic Converter needs a helper app but I cannot find one for OS X

I was finally able to get PH Elements to open EPS files. The problem is that when I go open -- it does not even recognize the Art Explosion CDs.
It will not do a batch convert because of this.

Any ideas?

doesn't recognize the files on the cd's or at all? does it help if you put the files on your actual hard drive?

i had some clip art cd's that were pc only. how lame is that... had to convert over to burnt cd on pc, and then bring back to mac.

that alone makes pc users suck ass.

For batching a LOT of the images, just copy them off onto a volume you can access with the Mac.

What is weird about this whole thing is that Art Explosion is supposed to be "Built for OS X"

I cannot get Photoshop Elements to even recognize the CD

if you want to convert images from eps to jpeg or gif, in illustrator, you could just choose file>save for web..., but they'd be at a lower quality i'd imagine?

The files on the CDs may not be recognizable Mac-friendly formats, although you may be able to convert them once you save them to your hard drive. Also, do the disks have a type of software with them that allows you to preview them and save them? If so, you may be able to specify the format straight from the preview app.

If you have a lot of files to convert, I would use GraphicConverter's batch convert option. The helper app you have to download and install is MacGhostView. Check www.macupdate.com or www.versiontracker.com.
