I'm just wondering if anyone else has experienced this.

I have a Sony DA777ES home theater amp, a Power Mac G4 (dual 867, MDD), and a 15GB iPod.

If I connect the line out (either rear or front headphone) connector to my stereo, or the line out from the iPod dock, I get excessive interference. It's quite noticeable between tracks. I have noticed however that if I disconnect the FireWire connector from the iPod dock, the interference goes away.

Thoughts?

Well the MDD macs have notorious interference on their audio ports.

I have experienced something similar to what you are describing with the iPod dock. Basically what I think is happenning is that power is being taken away from the line out when you plug a firewire cable into it (except if it's just going to the AC adapter). I have the same problem with the line out in my car. Really pisses me off that I can't listen and charge at the same time

Ahh, if it works connected to the AC charger rathern than a FireWire port on a computer, that's fine w/ me.

I'm thinking about getting an additional dock to connect to my home stereo.

Thanks for the input.

No problem, just remember that the extra docks don't come with cables, those are seaprate ends up costing arund $50.
