hey, I've been trying to get a job doing some sort of graphic design and what I've read here has been quite helpful, though I would like to know something that hasn't been covered, at least as far as I can tell. I am interested in creating posters, for the purpose of selling, and I would like to know how this process would be done? Is there anybody out there familiar with the business of such? How is it such a thing gets started? I have produced a number of posters and wondered where would I get these turned into professional prints and how much would this cost and how would I get these distributed? Whatever information anyone can provide would be quite invaluable. thanks.

If you plan to sell your posters locally or by mail or whatever, have a word with some local print bureaus and the like, get a quote for limited print runs and possibly sample media.

If you want to do it online, you can get CafePress or other online shophosters to do all the legwork - upload your graphics, and choose what you want people to be able to buy - customers'll then be able to order direct, it'll be processed, printed on demand, and you'll get the larger chunk of the takings.

Simple.

Can't really recommend anyone though - never actually seen any prints from online sources, and I'm sure we won't be in the same city to talk about bureaus...

hey, thanks for the info, it all sounds quite helpful. I've drawn all of it by hand and then I've scanned most of the pieces, but there's a lot of clean up to do, but I suppose once that's done, I can get it going. and thanks again, really appreciate it.
