Can I assume products advertised in the online store are comaptible with Apple software? Specifically, I'm looking at the Canon Optura 20. I was ready to pull the trigger on this purchase until I stumbled accross this page on the Canon site. http://www.canondv.com/service/compatibility.html
It seems the Optura 20 is not on the compatibility chart for either Final cut Pro 3
or iMovie 3. Is the Canon page stale or if I buy
this camera, I won't be able to use the latest version of iMovie or Final Cut Pro 3

I forgot to add above: I know this redundant to some: How about a recommendation for a DV Camcorder for under a $ 1,000. I know I'm
cheap but geez, the Optura 20 is not even listed in the Final Cut Express compatibility
chart.

I don't know where you're looking but the Optura 20 is most assuredly supported in iMovie 3.

And if I'm not mistaken, this camera looks an awful lot like an Optura.
Nearly all (if not all) Canon camcorders are supported by iMovie, Final Cut Pro and Final Cut Express.
I have 3 Canon camcorders and they have all worked flawlessly with iMovie and Final Cut Pro.
I think you're worried for no reason.

These lists aren't updated as quickly as products are introduced. I am 99.99999999% certain that the Optura 20 will work with iMovie.
The camera's been on the market for a bit now. If it didn't work, there would be posts all over stating that fact. (I just checked Apple's iMovie discussion boards and no complaints).
msuper69, that's an Elura model.

say... i'm looking at the Optura 20 too. anyone have it, and do you like it? Also, is it considerably better than the ZR70? I'll use it for a little more than home movies, but nothing too big.
