i'm looking for some reference / training materials for after effects 5.5. while i've used other adobe apps for years i'm new to tinkering with after effects. i've worked with editors and type animators who use the app so i have a general sense of how things work but have not been at the helm myself.

anyone out there have suggestions for where i should begin?

thx.

hmm. I always got my aftereffects experience from just messing around with it... it took a long time, but. Its so similar to photoshop that I could never justify getting a book beyond the manual. Is there anything in particular you are trying to do? you can email me if its not board worthy. whatever @ concaf.org.

thx, zookie. i don't have a specific idea / project, just dabbling with the demo. i may e-mail you with questions in the future if that's cool.

i've also found that doing is the best way to learn. i tend to tire of the manuals but find them helpful when problem solving. ended up ordering a used copy of the after effects bible off half.com. i figure that way i can get the basic commands / effects / ideas from a solid source.
