my primary machine is a ti 667 powerbook and i'm considering buying the new al powerbook. any design / ad folk out there using it yet? just looking for firsthand experiences. thx.

I am, and it kicks ass. I haven't really done HARD CORE editing, as I am still waiting for RAM.

What did you expect  ?
"Nah..its really terrible. Photoshop speed is down 20%, the things horrible! stay well clear if your a designer."
The only way you can get a first hand experience is by going and playing with one yourself. Ask somebody else for their experience and it becomes a second hand experience

I have the "old" 15" Powerbook 1Gighz, 1gig ram, superdrive...etc. When I'm at the studio, I use it with a 20" Cinema display and I love it. I've had it since January and no complaints. I've done all my work on it many big jobs including a 118 page book, and several large websites. Having the ability to back everything up on a DVD whenever I want is lovely as well.
