Hello All
As the Mac IT guy for a large company, I was looking to switch over to InDesign CS from quark 4.11.
I understand that Quark is an "Industry Standard", but for us it is extremly cost prohibitive.
I just wanted to know if it's possible to save/export Indesign files as Quark documents.
Thanks

You can download and install a trial version, I believe. Check out their website.
If you are thinking some users will be using InDesign and then give the files to a Quark station, I'd stay away from that in a production environment for regular use. There's too much a chance that the conversion/save will introduce an error.
For one-time conversions, to bring in art and edit and proof with a eye for detail the InDesign opening Quark files is OK.

The question was whether InDesign would save as a Quark document.

Zero,
You can open Quark files in ID, and save as ID files. The same can be done with Pagmaker files. I beleive you need a plugin. I've tried to do it in a pinch one time and the type reragged all over the place.
But you as far as I know you cannot save a file as Quark from ID.

Yes, the Photoshop to CS Premium upgrade is a great deal.
There is a Quark plug-in from Markzware that's called Id2Q, but it has more limitations than features, so not really worth it (doesn't support transparency or indesign's great type engine etc).
If you have to hand off files for editing, let them get indesign, or the fully functional demo (works for 30 days). They'll be hooked after that anyway
If you hand off files for printing, just check their pdf requirements and send them a pdf file.
