Hi All,

I shoot photos for a local bar every week and take about 500 per session. After dl'ing them to my Mac, I then run a batch action that does a little colour work, resizes the image and then saves it as a jpeg using "Save for Web" (and I go away, and let it run overnight)

In Pshop 7, all goes just fine, the batch runs for a while and does what it's supposed to to.

I've just run the batch for the first time in PShop CS, and every time the action reaches the actual saving part of "Save for Web", I get a warning message stating that there are "non-Latin" characters in the file name and that the file "will be incompatible with some browsers and servers". I don't care!!

BTW: the character in question is a dash, which I've been using since Mosaic first came out!.

To continue the batch, I then have to click "ok". For each session, I'll have to do this 500 times, and sit there while the action runs on each image (takes about 30 seconds).

Can anyone tell me how to suppress this warning? (I couldn't see anything in the prefs to do with this error).

TIA for any help,

Chas

With batches this large you might want to look into ImageMagick. It is a group of command line programs that you can use to manipulate images. I have found that if I play with things a bit I can get most of what I want out of it... and with a little shell scripting I can make it very intelligent about what it does.

Short of that, you might want to put a paperweight on the enter key... I don't know if this works with Photoshop, but it has worked for me on other occasions...

Hey larkost,

Thanks for the tips (paper weight eh? I have to say, I've never done that in all my years of Mac-ing! LOL!)

Thanks again,

Chas
