This tutorial demonstrates how one can create their own "Lucasfilm" logo. However, what the genius tutorial creator forgot to include was actually showing you how to do what he's telling you to do.

My question is about one section in particular. In one part, he tells you to round off the bases of the text to match the arc right underneath (he says "adjust the nodes"). How would I do something like that? Every time I try some sort of effect option, it's completely not what I intended to do. Thanks for your help.

I think a node is a point on the curve. The control points adjust the curve on either side of the node. Because you're not interested in changing the curve, you just want to move the "node."

That's my guess,

In the tutorial, that section is like "To curve the type to the arc, simply curve the type to the arc."

Your best bet to automate this (and not be pulling control points by hand) would be with Effect -> Warp -> Arc Lower. Do a negative bend and you'll be good to go. You'll have to do some vertical scaling of the type to keep the height up.
