I've completed work on my own design site. I'm currently in school, and I put together this site for the purpose of showcasing some work, and hopefully drumming up some freelance business.
I'm planning on revamping the portfolio section, as I know its the most important section-and I've decided to have it showcase a few choice projects, rather than simply showing quantity. I have a print portfolio with more complete work. I invite suggestions/comments on that too, please.
Thanks for taking the time.

Pretty Slick... but there are some places where the type can not be seen clearly overtop of the photographs (the loading bar is one that sticks out, or rather, does not stick out).
I like.

nice. 1 thing that bugs me is the sound loading. the progress bar doesnt even show up for me till its at like 70 something percent. i am by no means an authority on flash but if i remember correctly sound by default loads first (will even before your preloader. You really should figure out how to get the preloader (progress bar) loaded first. basically i was staring at a blank square until the sound loaded which makes me and I imagine other folks wonder if the site even works and may click off before anything shows up. I would tell you how to fix it if I knew how but I'm sure it can be done. i recommend going to www.flashmove.com for tips

throw your soundfile into a separate MC instead of the main timeline and flash'll start the preloader before loading the sound. Also make sure you set the sound to 'stream'. You'll still get a delay, but it won't be as much. I'd reccommend just not putting a really large soundfile into your preloader.

First:
Your resume, does not have to be zipped in pdf. The difference between the plain pdf and the zip file is 4k total.
zip file : 36k
pdf : 40k
Downtown Chicago image non-existent
Your background image is not that great
Overall a good site, I like your images of the tulips, and field museum, but the other two are not my favorites.
What about the School of the Art Institute?
Maybe a Frank Lloyd Wright home?
Something else... Water Tower?
Navy Pier Ferris Wheel?
Sears Tower?
John Hancock?
Just some ideas.
People generally don't like zip files as they may contain things they are not sure about so if you can make any downloads non-zipped, that would be a plus, or state contents.
Field Museum zip = 1.3 mb
Field Museum jpg = 1.4 mb
Have a great new year.

From "about hd":

A couple extra commas that could go from there too.
