I recently upgraded to Panther adn loaded the newest HP Drivers for my P1000 printer. Now I don't seem to have the same output options and my prints are of noticeable lower quality than before. Anyone have any similar experiences?

We had some issues here with 10.3 and a 7140 Multifunction. after some reinstalls, it seems to be ok, but it was buggy and HP seems to be really, really slow on updates. Sorry, I know that doesn't help you too much, more just .02 for the moral support.

I printed another copy of a photo that I printed prior to my 10.3 upgrade and there is a noticeable difference in the quality of the prints.

After doing a little more digging, it appears that under 10.3 HP is using CUPS/GIMP drivers for print support.

The printer itself is capable of resolution up to something like 1200X2400 dpi but the print setup dialog only allows me to choose up to 600x600...very frustrating.

I don't know anything about CUPS, hopefully there's a config option that will allow me to go to a higher resolution.
