I was wondering how do I get Photoshop and other apps to acurately display 100% aka print size as being correct. ( one inch on ruler is actually an inch ) I figured its some thing to do with screen reslolution and higher than expected by program or something but don't see why programs such as expensive as photoshop don't have some sort of way to compensate for this. Are there plugins that do this?

I was gonna post this in software forums but figure you guys here that use photoshop alot might know

In photoshop, scale your document to 33.3% and that is about 1:1

In photoshop, 100% relates to pixels, not physical (printed) size. Thus, when loooking at a document at 100%, each pixel corresponds to one pixel on your screen.

When translating this to physical size, it gets complicated as all monitors are different resolutions. It won't necessarily work to be 33.3% - it depends on the document and your screen resolution. But it's not a cop-out on their part - when editing, it's more useful to know that you are looking at all of the pixels than how big it will print.

you'll never get it *exactly* right. its just the nature of pixels vs dots. but 'view as print size' is close enough. its under the view menu.
