I'm sure a bunch of you are familiar with MacSkinz, which will let you design and print your own case shell for an iBook or PowerMac G4. They also have a bunch of predesigned shells you can buy, but none of them have really caught my eye.

I wonder if anyone has designed a skin and would share their design. Or if you have some cool design ideas, sketches, whatever, let fly.

I'm working on a design based on Stanley (of "and Livingstone"), focused on his arrival in Zanzibar before he travels inland to find the good doctor. It's meant to look cool and also be a bit of the riddle--a "who am I?" Or at least, that's the idea... [sketch coming]

Any other ideas out there?

No takers, I see. I realized the other day that I had a few standard write-on transparencies. Figuring it was worth a shot, I tossed one in the inkjet printer and gave it a whirl. It produced a darker image than onscreen and was a bit grainy (though in fairness it was just a 72dpi jpeg), but still an impressive output for off-the-shelf stuff. This to say, I'll be buying a clear Skin, if they ever make it back online. Perhaps I'll start with a variation of one of these.
