I made some "logos", but I think they're missing something....

I'm not sure about the outline on the first and the second one doesn't scream power. What do you think?

i don't like the dropshadow, the gradient, or the thickness of the outline on the top one, aside from that the form is ok with me. if you could get away with ditching everything but the 'databytes' part you could probably get away with more metaphorical design fun. no offence but I abhor the second one, the type mostly.
