Hi
I'm rather concerned that simple transparency/scale tweens aren't playing back smoothly. These are simple graphic symbols, tweening over 6 frames at 12/22 fps (I'm trying both rates). The playhead pauses briefly on the time line, although things are smooth when previewing.
Then, when the movie in question is loaded into the main movie, the playback is jerky again.
What should I judge the situation on? Do things improve in a final projector? Have I reached the limits of my machine?! As it stands, I'm planning to remove any animation from my Flash project and keep things static to be safe, which seems crazy.
Thanks
Ben

Hi drissa
I always use 30fps for flash. I remember there were certain FPS issues in earlier versions of the flash player, which is why i use such a high frame rate. I think they're all sorted now though.
A simple tween like that should be silky on a machine like yours. I've got pretty much the same setup. Flash has got quite low limits, but you shouldn't notice unless you're doing quite hardcore physics and equations.
When you say you loaded the movie into the main movie, do you mean you used LoadMovie or LoadMovieNum? Could you post the fla file (or a similar one) to try and replicate the problem?

how big are the symbols? are they bitmap or vector? Ar your frame rates in both movies the same? I use a frame rate of 99 personally, but thats just me. Only so much silkiness you'll squeeze out of the crap mac plugin.

derbs- actually no, mm still hasn't fixed the frame rate problems with flash on the mac, and if you're going to use a frame rate in the 30s use 31 it'll run much smoother on the mac.

thanks for the tip zookie.
I think the mac plugin slowly gets better with each release. I think we'll have finally caught up with the PC plugin at about Flash player 16

not really, the flash player stays pretty much at the same level behind the pc plugin with every release.
