I am laying out a simple report to process for PDF.

BTW, disclaimer, I am a web interface designer/developer so excuse the ignorance please.

I have the report which is basically text and a bunch of tables and graphs. Graphs are easy, I can simply place them... however tables are killing me. I want to create a table in either Excel or InDesign or even InCopy and I want to place them in the story. I want the table to align right and have the text wrap around the table.

I noticed that Quark does this but Quark doesn't have some of the export to PDF features I like and we are a Version Cue test bed so I "should" use an Adobe product.

Is this possible within the application or what is this WoodWing stuff?

You should design the tables in InDesign -- the tools are very effective, and the tables I have done came out great at press time (no shifting, etc).

To wrap the text, go to Window > Type & Tables > Text Wrap. This will bring up the palette with the functionality I think you are looking for. Click on the table in your design, then click the second icon in the palette. You can control the amount of buffering space around the object in the fields just below the icons. Make sure the table is all the way in front to ensure this works (click on the table, then Object > Arrange > Bring to Front)

Hope this helps.

You can also do them in Excel if that is your preferred method and easily import them into InDesign. Quark won't do it. You can also edit them from InDesign as well. I had a price book I was creating and had this same dilemna. Another reason Quark sucks.

Good luck.
