I'm looking to get into vector illustration - print work sorta stuff. I've seen a lot of very impressive things done with these techniques. I did a search on Google and found this site that has some excellent examples of what I'd like to learn to do - www.lifeinvector.com . I know this is probably some of the better work out there, and it would take a lot of practice and expertise to get there.

I was wondering if someone could point me to a tutorial or two that would show how these images are created. I've never used Illustrator or FreeHand before...worked exclusively with raster web graphics (or Flash) - so I don't have a clue how these illustrations are made.

I know that www.designchapel.com and www.bluelimonade.com both use flash for their vector stuff. Personally I use Illustrator. I have gotten very used to its controls and I have never really had a need to use flash.

There are some good tutorials over at www.vectorkid.com But I think the best way to learn (how I did it) is to find some interesting pictures and start tracing. You will get some decent results and learn the different tricks to making it work. If you need any help just ask...Either I or another member will be glad to point you in the right direction.

Flash does a way better job than streamline when it comes to vectorizing bitmaps too.
