Hello everyone I am having a heck of a time creating PDF's in Office X via the built in "createPDF" buttons that are placed in the office programs when you install Acrobat 6.0.
Every time that I click the "create PDF button" it asks me "WHERE IS PRINT CENTER"....
I then select acrobat 6.0 (also tried Acrobat Distiller 6.0) and it gives me the following error:
"PDFMaker could not locate the Adobe PDF Printer. Please install the printer on this machine"
(i am running a 12'' powerbook 1ghz if it matters)
Any ideas....as I am stumped!
Thanks,
Kris

File-->Print-->Save as PDF.
Also make sure Print Center is in the /Applications/Utilities folder.

I know that I can do the usual print to PDF option with OSX, however I am trying to use the create PDF option "button".
Also, this may sound a little stupid on my part, but WHAT exactly is the "print center" and how do i find it to place it in the approproate folder?
thanks

have you updated your acrobat to 6.0.1?
the Adobe PDF Printer broke with 10.3 (or one of the point releases), the .0.1 update should fix it for you.

I had the same issue. The "Print Centre" no longer exists in the most recent versions of OS X. It has been replaced by the "Printer Setup Utility". So when you are asked to select the "Print Centre" select the "Printer Setup Utility" instead. That should get it to work.
Unfortunately, Acrobat on the Mac platform is a bit of a mess. Have a look at some of the comments in this thread to see what I mean.

Google printergy refiner...it operates as a virtual printer and spits out .ps files, which you then run through Distiller. Trust me, you're better off this way than using M$'s PDF export, and whoever you send the files to will thank you.
So, the usual answer when the topic is Office...give up all hope. Do it another way.
