i had to read the options on the first page, in order to understand what portfolio i was gonna see.
people on the web, generally do not read text, unless it's a story / article..
you should simplify that choice selection. perhaps two buttons. "complete portfolio" and "photography only"
, then again, why are you seperating them?
seems a bit pointless. if the site is quick, and organised properly, you should keep them all together.
btw - i only spent about 3 mins on the site... but within the first minute of a new user visiting your site, if it hasn't "clicked" with them properly, they'll leave.
just my initial thoughts anyway.
btw2 - you have some great photography! :-)

just random:
your typography exercise might have been improved by using, say, a better font.
in the regular portfolio, your photo section is blurry. (flamingos)
In the photo portfolio, the background image/black bar is distracting from the actual featured photos. Simplify it.
Otherwise, your flash nav is pretty cool.

Instead of having the portfolio thumbnails load in the pop up window one at a time, can you have them appear instantly?

I was totally lost, your animations are way too long for what they are. Any user should be able to browse your portfolio in full without waiting long, unless you have some sort of VERY important animation that is necessary.

It's true. The Mac version does run slower than the PC version of Flash.

I wonder what the reason might be. I enjoy designing web pages more on a pc than the mac. I enjoy photo, video and audio editing on macs, everything else on a pc, including MAYA
