I have 3 different Epson printers..... 890, 825 and R800.. I can't seem to print true borderless prints with any of them (through photoshop?)... I have the latest drivers..... and it just won't owrk, there is always a white border. I'm selecting the right praper as an option... I am really frustrated!
If anyone has some tips, (as epson's web site is useless) please let me know.
Thanks so much,
emalen!

I may be wrong about this, but I think that the "borderless printing" claim is just a gimmick. I worked with a couple of the so-called borderless printers, and on that setting I would consistently get a thin border around the edge. It's only a marketing gimmick.

I'd have to agree that it is a marketing gimmick...I think that the margin area for an Epson inkjet is pretty darn good compared with the horsey 1/2" that was standard not long ago for laser printers..
I'd theorize that the closer the print head gets to the edge of the paper, the more the paper's flex becomes an issue. If the print head got close enough, you might get some minor flapping which could cause ink to smear across your otherwise fine print as the head returned to the other side. Worse, it might also give rise to tearing of the paper.
Maybe the margins we get are what Epson engineers feel is safe enough to ensure that this flex doesn't happen.
Just a guess on my part.

I just wanted to let you know, that borderless printing is not a myth! It works brilliantly with my Epson photo R800... took a little while, but it works!

Isn't it treated as another printer "printerX borderless"?

Epson's borderless printing works on OS X, but it's horribly badly implemented.
Canon does it nicely. I don't know how HP does it.
