What manner of basic graphics applications exist that provide for..:
- : reshaping interior components without affecting the perimeter;
- - ( .. as in..: for map plot adjustments; see post sctipt for examples)
- : 3D ok, but 2D essential;
- : size unit information on each of the components;
- : layering that would be independent of the primary shape;
- : OS 9.x or less.
....?

I would think that there ought to exist some basic app of reasonable price..?
Yes..?

and

Where to find reviews or comparisons if there are several available..?

P.S.: For example: a garden plot or a tract of land.... Let's level the playing field here by assuming each has a pre-defined, finite size and perimeter. I want to know how much of the rest of the garden is available after _maybe_ so many kinds of tomatoes requiring so much space for each plant. If my priorities are tomatoes, I could then find how much space remained for the parsley if that were the second priority. And maybe, if I were to find a sufficiently powerful app'n, a third, and then a fourth priority effected by the change in size of the tomato patch allocation. Or take the plot of land..: If I had 15 acres, and wanted to know what the optimum allocation was to a large pond relative to a wood lot or tillable field, adjusting one would of course adjust the others inversely, and each section would provide unit measurements within it (or near it) , ,
Yes.?

Do I make myself perfectly mud at the bottom of the lowland woodlot..?
What kind of graphic app will work within those 'parameters' and allow for prioritizing primary, secondary, etc.?

As you can ThanX..!
