Hi,
I'm having two problems with Indesign (both font related).
First is, Every time I open a few files I've been working on I get a warning saying that I have missing fonts. So, I try to find the font to update, fix it. But every single time the program unexpectantly quits on me. It is impossible to not only find where this font is in my file but to also get rid of it. Has anyone else had this problem?

My second problem is I'm sending a project off to print, so I preflighted and packaged. I ignored the missing font from above. However, a font that has not posed a problem and was not stated as missing is not in my fonts folders that was packaged. And another random font is in the folder, that is not in the file at all. I'm not quite sure why this would happen.

If anyone could offer any advice, I'd appreciate the help.
Thanks!

Where are the fonts in question installed? Try putting them in the InDesign CS fonts folder( it's in Applications/Adobe InDesign/fonts}.

It sounds like you may have a damaged/corrupted font. There is an application called Font Doctor that can check for damaged fonts, and can sometimes repair them. Also, are you using a font management utility, like Suitcase or Font Agent Pro? Where do you keep your fonts (particularly the font(s) in question)?

Also, to see which fonts are actually used in your document, select "Find Font" from the Type menu in InDesign CS. There, you can select and change/remove the fonts that shouldn't be in your document, and which fonts are missing, etc.
