Hi,

I'm experiencing jagged type running Quark 4 on my new PB G4. I was running Quark 4 fine via Classic on my old Pismo.

Should ATM be installed or is there some other extension that needs to be in Classic to get antialiased type?

My postscript fonts do have both outline and bitmap type loaded into the Classic System Folder.

Any ideas?

Quark in Classic (especially where fonts are concerned) is a crapshoot at best. Try installing ATM. If your G4 is OS 9-bootable, that's the best way to use Quark (you'll still need ATM, though).

yep ATM 4.6 with Suitcase Bridge if you are running Extensis Suitcase in 10.3

but your suitcase could still be corrupt so you are back to square one if that happens.

ATM is needed for classic to get smooth type for postscript fonts (or you have an incomplete/damaged font)

It works quite well. ATM DELUXE WILL NOT WORK in classic and is incompatible with OSX.

No OS9 booting on my PB ... I can transfer the files from my Pismos System Folder. Can someone tell me what files I'm looking for. Is it just the one or are there more?

It should be a single control panel in System Folder::Control Panels, called ~ATM. I think the last version that was released was 4.6.2, which is what I have.
