Hey all,
I have finally made the complete switch over to OS X (believe it or not, I still have some short comings with my audio).
On thing that is bugging me, is that when I print from illustrator (Adobe CS), the output seems to be lighter than when I print the same file in Illustrator in OS 9.
I originally thought it was an OS X thing, but when I print from Word, the output is fine. It only comes out too light in Illustrator.
I have "attempted" to play around with the colorsync aspect, but I feel my lack of knowledge in this area has hindered any real progress.
After all this, I think I came across the real problem. I believe that illustrator is trying to print the file in color. It is a black & white document I am trying to print. I use an Epson 740i under OS 10.3.2. I don't have a color cartridge installed, as I rarely print in color.
When i used to print under OS 9, an Epson dialog box used to appear, and I could select black & white instead of color. But since OS X automatically recognizes my printer without needing to install any drivers or software, I no longer have this option to select black & white.
Any help would be much appreciated, as this is starting to really annoy me. My only option at the moment is to save the file as an older version eps, then launch classic and print out of my older version of illustrator. Obviously I don't want to have to stick with this workaround.
Thanks in advance.
