Anyone see the DAVID BURNETT photo essay on the olympians on Time Magazine's website? IMO, it's a beautiful body of work. Burnett captured the personalities of the athletes in a unique and inspiring fashion. Each shot composition / treatment is well-suited to the subject.

You are right. Great photography. Love the way he uses depth-of-field.
