You're probably better off selling them online. The DVDs will be expensive to distribute and advertise. You may also want to consider contacting Getty Online and selling them the rights to the images. You could also build your own site and work it that way.

Well, I was thinking that it's will be a good idea to sale pictures online and DVD online as well, because the images are huge, so it's better to have them without compression in tiff, in the end of the month the site will be up online. Thanks, maybe I'll contact Getty, but I don't think they will pay much, but PhotoDisks cost a lot, so I don't really know how much they pay if the pay anything.

The benefit of going the Getty route is that you'd get more exposure (excuse the pun). I myself have not ever done a search for Russian flowers. However, I have done a search for flowers and purchased some from Getty.

Yes, a DVD and online option would be nice. But will people search out your offerings or is the scope too narrow? That's a question for you to answer for yourself.

Godd luck with the venture.

Of course, I was thinking that the biggest problem is promotion of DVD and web site, but do you think Getty will buy right on this kind images: http://www.applelinks.net/macalex/pa...n%20fisher.jpg

P.S. This is just an example, that I have made few days ago, but it's not very high resolution and colors in jpeg is not really are real and it's panorama. Just take a look and say what you think about it.

First let me say: Beautiful shot. Based on this sample I suggest you skip Getty and look at Photonica (www.photonica.com). Their images tend to be more artistic and better crafted than what you might find on Getty. You belong there.

Here's the problem...

As an art director I often need to buy stock images. Because my time is tight I usually do searches the following ways:

1. I check out stock sites based on what types / styles of imagery they sell. I tend to search on a number of them. (ie. Getty, Photonica, Ibid, etc.)

2. I contact photographers I know who shoot the type of things I'm looking for. Many shooters here (U.S.) keep stock libraries.

Hope this helps.

Again, lovely image.

Been said before. But a very nice shot, indeed.
I say skip the middle man where possible and sell direct.
You're up against stiff competition on stock photo websites.

Selling direct would be best from a profit standpoint. When it comes to exposure you're talking about a different game entirely.
