For some reason some of my pictures has lost all it´s exif data (metadata). This off course prevents me from sorting my pictures correctly using date sorting.

There are many ways of changing dates, but I am looking for a way to add the date when the exif data is missing.

I have tried using PhotoInfo, GraphicsConverter and Iview Media Pro to add dates for the pictures, but it seems impossible. I am only able to change dates, but not add dates for pictures without exif data.

Any help would be appreciated!

You can add/edit the exif data in Photoshop. Open the File Browser (from the "Window" menu), and in the "Folders" tab navigate to the file/files you want to edit. Select that file in the File Browser main window and edit the metadata in the "Metadata" tab (I believe you can edit multiple files at once if they share the same information). I cant remember if the file browser is available in any version of Photoshop before CS, but I'm fairly certain that it is available in PS 6 and 7.

I'm looking for an answer to this problem too. I followed your suggestion to use Photoshop via the File Browser, but it doesn't work—when there is no EXIF data, you can't access the EXIF fields in the Metadata box (they don't appear at all).
