Whenever we try to print to our HP LaserJet 5M printer using the Apple Chancery and/or Hoefler Text fonts, it won't print the quotation marks. It just puts boxes.

Anyone know of a fix for this? We're running fully updated Quark XPress 6 on Panther 10.3.5, printing to an HP LaserJet 5M via AppleTalk.

Thanks

I hate fonts.

Have had similar probs before. Let me think it through... we DID solve it. Interested to see solution if someone has it. Otherwise, will try to remember.

Hey- how about don't use those fonts?!? jk

Maybe if you PDF the document and then print it you could solve the problem. Or maybe not. That's what I love of Quark and fonts.

we are in the middle of a fiasco here with Q6 and fonts.

see the font on screen -> make PDF = special characters not there just spaces
so do it again and characters appear fine

- OR -

see it on screen -> print to proof on Creo RIP to Xerox DocuColor = no characters...
close doc
log out
start over
special characters are not on screen -> print to aforementioned RIP = comes out fine on paper

we have contacted Quark - they are working on it - with no projected date for a solution.
we have contacted Adobe - they are checking into issues with fonts and OSX/Extensis suitcase but do not expect to find anything since InDesignCS is not showing the same set of issues.
