I just got my hands on a copy of Illustrator and I'm teaching myself the basics (still have to buy a book). I've completed my first vector drawing in about 6 hours:

I'd like to see some of your art in Illustrator so I can get an idea of what this program can handle.

The easiest way is to trace something, either an illustration you've scanned or a picture from the web. Put the image as a locked layer and draw onto a new layer on top of it.

i do that but it's the pen tool that bugs me. i guess i need constant practice. drive-thru, that's a very complex piece above. how do you go about doing it, if you don't mind?

All these are great, guys. you are really talented. I have no art skills at all, and I have real difficulty using Illustrator. I don't know why, but I have tried to learn. Symetrical things are easy, but thats about it.

That make me feel like a n00b. Any idea how they did those? I'm assuming they used the pen tool to draw out the shoes, but I don't understand how they got that awesome shading. Almost looks like photoshop. Amazing.

edit: I guess CS has a wireframe tool.. I've just got 10.

Well, mine isn't just a trace - it's a black fill of the girl with white "cut-outs" on top to make it appear like a trace.

That is sick; I feel sick.

Please excuse me while I go and throw up everything I thought I knew about what can be accomplished with Illustrator.
