I have years of Quark experience in magazine publishing and am currently job hunting. Every now n then I see ads that request Quark skills and a familiarity with "QPS."

I am pretty damn good at Quark... is QPS something I can "fake" and learn quickly, if I get an interview or hired?

What the *&%# IS QPS, anyway???

well I am not currently working on THAT particular system but since you have experience in magazine publishing then you are aware of the many applications using the "Editorial/comment" with "Approve/Suggest Changes" options.

I believe if you are familiar and comfortable with these functions within MicroSoft Word (current versions preferred) as well as the comment and editorial functions of Adobe Acrobat Professional, you may be able to fake your way through it.

You would of course still need to get your fingers on the manual just so you are up-to-date on the terminology.
