I have a basic graphics editing question, and I’m hoping that there’s just a simple answer that I’m overlooking. I have this image:

http://www.avenirex.com/v5/work/desi...re_plan_lg.jpg

(it’s pretty large)

As you can see, the borders are warped (due to a digital camera and me not knowing what I was doing 3 years ago.

Is there any simple way for me to squeeze and stretch the file so that the borders (and the rest of the sheet) aren’t as bulged anymore? Originally, they are drawn perfectly straight, and the rest of the image bowed when photographed. I just couldn't make photoshop's skew/perspective do anything productive.

Thanks in advance.

In photo shop you can use the Filter->Distort->Spherize

I expanded the Canvas by 110% then ran the Spherize filter at -3
Then i Croped it around the original image, and this is what i got:

Thats the general idea. If you work with it, im sure you can get it perfect.

(NOTE: You might want to do the same steps for your self. I had to resize it to 250K to post it.)

I've found that the sphereize/pinch filters in Photoshop are pretty limited (fixing an image with the pinch filter is an exercise in frustration if you don't have an image whose distortion is both horizontally and vertically centered).

Not to take away from gautch's good advice and effort, maybe you could try the following filters:

Debarrelizer

and this one I've recently discovered (I've only got the demo, but it looks very promising):

Lens Correction from Power Retouche.

Here is my effort with the Lens Correction filter (it's got the word "demo" all over it, otherwise I'd say the job is done :-)

Your question got me playing a bit with the above two filters. Think I'll be buying the Lens Correction filter (I shoot a lot of landscapes with a Sigma 12-24 wideangle and I also build muti-shot QTVR panos, and this filter is going to be _great_!).

Good luck

Chas
