Hi,

I finally completely switched from the PC to a Mac earlier this year [applause]. One thing I haven't been able to do is access a huge selection of Corel clipart which is stored in the .CMX image format.

I've tried Illustrator, Fireworks and Freehand but they don't recognise the format.

Is there any package out there for MacOSX that can import CMX or that can convert it to something like EPS?

Thanks,

Mike.

What I have done in the past is to use the 'Corel GALLERY' app that is included on the CD. The CD I have does not state that it is Mac specific. But that *might* be the case. As I have been using Macs for about ten years.

Of course you will have to run the app in Classic (OS9). At least I am speaking for the Gallery CD version I have. If what you have is a PC only disc you could try it using VPC, if you have it.

My CD is very old. 1995. Whew. The maps and flags are what I have usesd mostly.
The app wll allow you to export the files to PICT and EPS, I think. Been a while.

I usually just copy the app from the CD to the HD and run it from there. Seems to work better that way.

You will have to change the filenames to .eps or .pct as the app seems to keep the .cmx name on export.

A quick search on Corel's site yeilded no immediate results. Hopefully this will work for you.

Oh, and congrats on the switch. APPLAUSE.

HTH

Chuck
