I am a 3rd year architecture student and i use a powerbook G4 through a lease program from our school. we had a choice between mac and windows platform and i chose mac because that's what i grew up using and am most comfortable with. the problem i am having is that while the windows users are given autodesk, autocad, and are able to get rhino and 3d studio max, we are only given sketchup by the university. we had formz last year, but they have since discontinued the use of that program.
are there any architects who use 3d modeling programs on macs? and if so, what programs do you find are the best?

thanks

There are lots of option on the CAD side. VectorWorks and ArchiCAD are perhaps the most commonly used. VectorWorks pretty much covers what AutoCAD and Rhino does in one package. A suggestion is to look for CAD and 3D applications on Made4Mac at Apple's web site. You may be surprised how many programs there are. Not as many as on Windows but still MANY.
