I have used a celtic knot font to make a celtic knot in photoshop.
I now want to fill the different parts of the knot with color.
I have duplicated the layer and rasterized it.

My question is how do I make the fill color look shiny instead of the regular dull colors?

Is this an effect? Where do I find it if it is an effect?

Or do I need to use Illustrator instead?

Thank you for your help.

no effect it takes some effects you create on your own.
http://www.stereopsis.com/sblur/ here is a decent tutorial i don't know how to do it with anything but spheres. http://www.mafia-designs.com/images/mdbanner.jpg is an example of shinyness on a ball.

I want to know where you got a font for celtic knots!
That would've come in real handy on a project last week!

As an effect: you may try 1 or 2 bands of white or any other light color, apply gaussian blur, 40-80% opacity, bleed end to end. Bands can be vertical, horizontal or at an angle.
