The quick version: I discovered recently why it is a bad idea to dump 1,000 fonts into your fonts folder.
So, now I figure I should learn how to manage these fonts properly. Specifically, what is the best way to have
access to a lot of fonts, but not have so many active that it slows down apps and the OS? I'm vaguely aware of some programs that are supposed to help organize fonts, but I don't really know how to make an appropriate choice. So I come here, naturally.
What's your favorite font application? And if I use it, is it going to allow me to keep
active fonts to a minimum without much user intervention?
My appologies if I have posted this in the wrong place. It's hard to guess where the best area would be.
