Does anyone know of a fix for this? I was forced to upgrade to 6.5 from 4 for a client and find I had fewer problems running 4 in classic then I have running 6 in X.

I just don't get it ... really ... what the !!!!!! is Quarks problem! It almost makes me want to turn down any client work if it's required to be done in QuarkXPress.

Sorry for the frustrating rant ...

i'm assuming you mean the archives onscreen. the best solutions are:

a. zoom in / out
b. turn your guides on and off

the above will clear up the issue.

sadly, quark has not responded with any sort of fix for this rather irritating issue. i doubt they care. odd given their unwavering dedication to customer service and satisfaction ( insert heavy dose of sarcasm here ).

I was afraid that was the solution. This upgrade is really proving to be a nightmaree of corrupted files, error messages, etc...

I have one other question. I've noticed that the Quark files produced with 6 seem much larger than those produced by 4. Is there more info being stored? is this info necessary? Can it be switched off?

To my knowledge our only options are:

a. quit using quark - an impossibility for most of us.

b. bite the pillow.
