Need some help on working with a digital image of a product shot that has some transparent parts (clear plastic) that needs to be used in a product packaging box that has a digitally generated background.

Essentially, how do i combine the picture of the image with the background in the layout while maintaining some of the transparency of the clear plastic parts?

I've gotten started using some screened layers and such in pshop, but i'm feeling a little on the shakey side here. New territory, plus this project needs to be top notch for the competitive retail market. It needs to look totally realistic.

Help suggestions, tutorials, web sites with info would be GREATLY appreciated.

Much thank yall...

Move your semi-transparent objects to a new layer, and set the mode to multiply, or darken? might help keep things from getting too light as you apply transparency.
