Is it possible to take a true type font from a pc and use it on a mac?

No, sorry, OpenType is cross platform but not Truetype.

Yes. No conversion required. Just install it like a normal font.

I've never tried it with Suitcase, but I don't see why it would behave differently. I do remember problems with TrueType fonts in general being recognized by some apps, but that was in OS 9 days.

in os9, you had to run windows tt fonts thru a nice little app called TT converter, and there you were, all set to go, with or without suitcase. Note that some imaging rips hate the TT fonts.

Yeah, I remember TT converter. I generally avoided TT fonts anyway, because print shops hated them. I still don't use them that much, except that occasionally a client will request a TT font (usually because it's their "corporate" font). PDF workflows have made life easier, though.
