Wondered if there are any interesting freeware os x fractal apps about, I'm currently having some fun with Gaston but its kind of a shame that there is no opportunity within this program to export a 3DMF File or such like. I'm presently kind of trapped in Geo3D which does exactly this and its a real shame to learn that Quickdraw is being phased out, ouch !

There's Fracture by stick software sticksoftware.com, but you can't easily make fractals for that.

Yes, Fracture is good.. It is just a screen saver I think tho, right? However, it has lots of parameters to play with, plus it has the option to save its completed images to a picture file, although im not sure if the resolution will be any higher than the screen you are using at the time.
The worst thing about having a failing memory is..... no, it's gone.

There's not much in the way of freeware, but there's lots of fractal programs around if you search VT or MacUpdate.

If you want to go overboard, try Quadrium, which is sort of a shareware clone of ArtMatic Pro. ArtMatic is IMHO one of the most amazing programs ever written

Thanks Briareus, I downloaded Quadrium, but could you tell me anything about one of the files contained in the Quadrium Folder its called Spotlight Installer .pkg. Now I'm running 10.3.9 and I thought that one of the Tiger apps was called this, so what is the package ? There is absolutely nothing about this in the read me files nor is it mentioned in either the Manual or the Reference pdf's. So is it a Quadrium App or what ?

I believe it's a Tiger (10.4) thing. I just demo Quadrium as new releases come out to gauge the app's evolution as it relates to ArtMatic & never bothered to install the spotlight addition. You can safely ignore it.

ArtMatic's not cheap, but definitely check out the demo - especially if you have a speedy machine.
