Hi,

I'm preparing some photos to submit and the requirements state that they must be either slides or transparencies. I'm not familiar with making my photos, which are currently in digital format, into either slides or transparencies.

Can anyone provide some advice for doing this or seeking out a service to have this done... Is one of these formats preferred over the other? How can I be sure of the quality?

Thanks for any help/advice with this!

I have plenty of slides made, as well as negatives, from my digital files.

I always use gammatech, in nm, and can’t say enough good things about them.

https://www.gammatech.com/html/home.htm

They have always done a wonderful job, only once (out of about 30 orders) was there a mistake, and it was taken care of quickly and professionally.

If you use a good crt, and use adobe rgb 1998 as your profile in photoshop, the images should look great.

Thanks Jersey

I ordered some slides from Gamma Tech last week and they turned out great. The owner ( I guess it's a one man operation) was very helpful and delivery ahead of schedule.

Do most slides have a black border if they don't fit perfectly in the frame? I wasn't sure about the black border for a couple of my shots but I thought that might be the standard for slides....

thanks again for the recommendation!

yeah, they have a black border around them, it's how theyre shot. to get around it i always include a white border in the file and make the file the exact dimensions listed on the site.

Yeah.....they're great. I have called charlie a few times, and i seriously think he's just running the business out of his house.
