I posted this here rather then the Hardware Forum, because I really wanted advice from a digital artist's perspective.


I need an external monitor and prefer an LCD due to space restrictions. Now I understand I must have an LCD monitor that is 16.7 million colour rather than only 16.2, unfortunately I can't afford an Apple Cinema display.

Could someone please offer some advice with regard to a suitable LCD monitor for digital art?

Formac has nice lineup of LCD that are in reasonable prices. I've heard they are even better than Apple Cinema Display. I personally never use or see one in person. I can't give you any detail.

Well today I purchase the CMV LCD monitor which is exactly what I needed.

It has 16.7 million colours and is DVI. It looks fantastic has a nice bright screen and is silver to match my PowerBook Best of all it only cost me AUD 379.00 brand new.
