Any PPT gurus out there?

A client has asked my to give him a PPT template to go with a project I just completed. Problem is I don't know PPT for Jack.

I'm trying to import a Illustrator EPS file and it looks like dung when I blow up the slide.

Any ideas on what the problem may be?

As I said, I don't know this application at all.

Thx.

I've never had any luck with vector files in PPT...the possible exception to that might be meta-files (WMF) but...eww.
Is there a real reason you need to import a vector file? Not seeing the file, my quick solution has always been to rasterize the file and use it that way.

Thorz -- Thanks for the thought. I ended up exporting the file in TIF format and it worked perfectly.

All three times someone has asked me to do something in PowerPoint I cringe. Bummer is it always comes on the end of a big project and they want presentation materials to jive with the campaign. How I hate it...

Yeah. I hate PowerPoints just on general principal. I've yet to see one that was a)effective, and b) didn't bore me to tears within seconds.

PowerPoint has actually taken some steps backwards in EPS support. I remember when PowerPoint 98 actually supported placed EPS files.

If you're using PowerPoint 2004, you can use the "Save for Office" function in Illustrator, or export the file as PNG which does essentially the same thing.
I do not like those green links and spam.
I do not like them, Sam I am.

Tiff is too big. Treat it like a web page. PNG, JPG, GIF pick your favorite based on the image.

PPT will be huge anyway, as it is a memory hog and sucks in general.. yuck.

Unless they are expecting to edit your final PPT result. Don't use PPT.

Create your materials in InDesign or other application and save as a PDF with transistions and full-screen on when the file opens. It produces MUCH better looking presentations if you don't need all the 'animated googlies'. It does dissolves just fine and you can put in hyperlinks or interactive menuing with links within the document.

PDF is so underutilized!

Hi AD

Create your template original either in AI or PS. Size: 7.5 x 10" (for PPT presentation). Import into PS, sharpen as needed and save as an RGB JPG, 100dpi. PowerPoint can then import/imbed as a picture file or background.
