I first discovered this when trying to import Word 5.1 files into InDesign but then found out that any file of older formats (eps8, 9, 10) will hang for a long time with the spinning beachball in open or place dialogs in any CS2 app. Dragging them to the app will open them right away. This is only evident in the dialogs.

Any solution?

Never mind. I found this to be related to a Spotlight network hack I had installed :/
