At this place I have been freelancing (the one with all the F'd up fonts) the type tends to reflow from screen to laser printer... and I still can't seem to get the fonts that display bitmappy to smooth out... >sigh<

Luckily, I stop working here late September.

I don't know if I'm looking for advice at this point... just bitching...

Unless their fonts have been pirated, they should have the original font files on disk from the foundry they bought them from (in which case, they could just re-install those f*cked-up fonts. It sounds to me like some just copied the printer files from somewhere and didn't bother with the actual suitcase files...

So, you're going directly from computer to laser? How are printing the files?

Are you printing it as CMYK or Separations? Make sure if you're printing them using 160lpi ProRes or something similar to process screens.
