Here are 2 ideas for my first real attempt at creating my own website for a new business I'm setting up.

I'd appreciate any comments and suggestions.

Idea 1

Idea 2

Click to make big.

Is this company for helping Windows users make the transition to OS X?

---

I like the cool color spectrum for such a word/phrase. It's calming, but the warmer spectrum is not.

Does that mean you prefer the blue one?!

Company is to show people the error of their ways!

I like the blue one better -- it seems calmer to me.

Blue.

Try making the header a much smaller. It takes up too much room if it will be present on every page.

The orange one looks like cough medicine... so maybe that one? I don't know.

CompuTherapy???? I don't get it.

The blue looks nice, but the whole thing needs to be smaller.

Is a technical support and advice service I'm setting up in the area I live in.

Kind of Pain relief for your computer headaches or something like that.

Are you completely stuck on that name? I am not saying the name isnt unique and thought-provoking, but it may have a negative connotation. I always like service companies that have the name "Solutions" in them.

Here is why I bring it up: "Therapy" (the word itself) entails an (often) expensive drawn out process which will "gradually" fix your problem. With "therapy" you could say you are "focusing on the problem rather than solution". Yeah, its relief, but its not instant relief. The bottom line is that people are looking for instant, "I need it yesterday", solutions to their computer woes.

Thankfully, often the amount of money is less important than the turnaround time. I found this out quickly when I first started planning my own computer service business. I deciced to back out of it and pursue other things, simply because there is so much competition with the "Big Blue Box" stores around Southern California.

Anyway, best of luck to you with this endeavor. Sorry if my opinion is uninspiring to you. I just find that the service industry brings more headaches to the people who work in it rather than to those who actually have the problems.

I'm not entering the service industry as a big player...

Just trying to earn a few extra $$ helping jo public near where I live.

Was difficult to find a domain that wasn't taken.. hence the name.

I like the orange one myself. The blue one would be better minus the bevel on the text.

"In a world without walls or fences, what need have we for windows or gates?"

yes the blue is better if you improve it by following the advice given above.

Its also true though that you haven't really come up with two ideas, rather one idea in two different color schemes with minimal design difference.

maybe you should brainstorm a bit more to expand your designs?

I think the orange one is stronger. The color
pops more and the rounded corners are a
nice touch. The solid black border is too strong
on the blue, maybe no border with a light
drop shadow?

I would work on the type a little bit though,
maybe avoid the serif face for a tech comp?
Try a bold vs. light face in the same family.
Do you have Trade Gothic Extended?
Also, try overlaying some line work on the
background (like in the blue one) at opacity
10 - 15%.

I understand. Best of luck to you then bro.

May want to try some different fonts in that case.
